Art Lovers Draw “Lots” for Charity at the annual Martinis and Matisse event. Martinis and Matisse is a fundraiser with a name impossible to say if you’re not temperate with the former.
Clearwater, FL (January 2009) - On a swanky Saturday evening, the Clearwater Free Clinic held their annual fundraising soirée in the building of one of the largest privately held companies in the state—the FrankCrum building—which occupies an impressive 14-acre campus in downtown Clearwater.
“It’s the best event in Clearwater!” Dana Rizzuto of the Montage Gallery, proclaimed.
Local restaurants such as Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s, Greektown Grille and E&E Steakout Grille donated food. Guests munched on fashionably small portions of chorizo-stuffed pork tenderloin, chicken marsala and taramosalata, a Greek style caviar as they mingled and enjoyed the open martini bars. They also admired art with titles like “Three at a Martini Party” and “Sandpipers on Clearwater Beach” and listened to a jazz band playing a soft and sophisticated rendition of “Girl from Ipanema.”
Frank Crum Jr. generously donated his building to host the event and has been doing so for the past two years. “It’s in Clearwater and supports a Clearwater function,” he says. “It was the right thing to do.”
