Delphi AcademyTM of Florida is sponsoring this premier community event to bring international soccer to local residents bridging social divides through the promotion of sport as a route to personal achievement and team success.

The brainchild of the Galactics Board of Directors, the roots of this event were firmly planted with a strong desire to expose local families to professional soccer and its power to breakdown social barriers. ‘Galactics Clearwater International F.C. provides a safe, fun and entertaining environment for the youth to express themselves, lead by our highly skilled coaching team’, states the soccer club’s mission statement. Expected to draw 5,000 spectators there will also be a soccer clinic and adventure area for youth, while the parents will enjoy the games and food and memorabilia available.

“Open to all, this event will bring communities together under the universal banner of Soccer and we are proud to work with Galactics on this inaugural signature community event for Clearwater”, said Delphi AcademyTM of Florida Headmaster Colin Taufer. “When Galactics approached us with their vision and a plan to coach our own Delphi Dragons soccer team we realized a great opportunity to help each other raise funds and awareness for youth soccer programs and our own desire to elevate the standard of self confidence, responsibility and achievement while having fun among all of our community. This event will bring everyone together in a multi cultural setting to promote American soccer and local community spirit”.

International soccer stars including US National team players, Tabare Ramos, Marcelo Balboa and Fernando Clavijo will autograph shirts for their fans after an exhibition game of former professional players from around the world, showing their skills on the field to help create excitement for the sport of soccer. Everyone will also have an opportunity to rub shoulders and take photographs with the soccer Galactics coaches pose with Delphi Dragons and Galactics Junior soccer playersstars to commemorate the event as they also dream of becoming an international soccer legend.
