IronKids Triathlon to Help Out Good Cause

IronKidsST. PETERSBURG, FL - Clothes To Kids, a not-for-profit organization that provides free new and gently-used clothing to low-income Pinellas County school children, is joining forces with the IronKids Triathlon, coming to St. Petersburg, FL on June 6 -7, to help raise awareness of the Clothes To Kids program and to boost clothing donations.  

The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), owners of Ironman, Ironman 70.3, Iron Girl, and IronKids, has generously agreed to support Clothes To Kids (CTK) by collecting donations at their much-anticipated IronKids Triathlon on June 6th and 7th, at St. Petersburg’s Spa Beach Park. CTK will have a booth at the IronKids event and will be on-site, both Saturday and Sunday, accepting donations of gently used clothes and athletic shoes. 

 “All of us at Clothes To Kids are absolutely thrilled that IronKids is giving us this amazing opportunity to get the word out about our program and tClothes for Kids, non-profit organizationo collect much-needed donations of clothing and shoes,” comments Jennifer Silva, CTK Executive Director, “and with our plan to open a second CTK store in St. Petersburg this fall, the timing couldn’t be better!” 

The IronKids' mission is to inspire and motivate youth through the sport to lead an active, positive and healthy lifestyle. The triathlon taking place in St. Petersburg is the second within the series that includes eight nationwide.  The Series targets children ages 6 to 15-years-old, and will offer an interactive weekend experience for the entire family.  For more information about IronKids, visit www.IronKids.com.

Founded in 2002, Clothes To Kids, Inc. is a year-round 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide new and quality used clothing to low-income, school-age children in Pinellas County, free of charge.  Since its inception, Clothes To Kids has distributed over 35,000 wardrobes. 

Each eligible child is permitted to shop twice every twelve months for a wardrobe to include:  5 new pair of socks and underwear, 4 bottoms (shorts or pants), 5 tops, a jacket (in season), a skirt or dress (for girls), and a pair of shoes. Clothes To Kids Clearwater store is located at 1059 North Hercules Avenue in Clearwater.  A St. Petersburg store is scheduled to open in early Fall.   CTK’s “store” is modeled after department store and offers parents and children a bright, friendly “shopping” environment.
