The Tampa Bay Times Forum is gearing up for the 2012 Republican National Convention from August 27-30, 2012. It will host 2,286 delegates and 2,123 alternate delegates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and five territories.  The Tampa RNC is predicted to draw an estimated 50,000 visitors and 15,000 accredited media — nearly the largest press coverage bested only by this summer's London Olympic Games.
The research team at Jones Lang LaSalle conservatively projects an economic impact of at least $153.6 million for the Tampa Bay area which they say could exceed $173 million.   “Any way you look at it, the convention is going to be a shot in the arm for Tampa Bay’s economy and tourism base,” Jones Lang LaSalle research analyst Stephen Siena said to the Tampa Bay Times

Thanks to their internet and social media efforts, the RNC will reach a much wider global audience – in real-time via a “convention without walls” - than ever before. The RNC has assembled an impressive team of high-tech partners enabling communication and information to be spread through, social media, live chats, mobile apps, streaming video and webcasting.

According to the RNC website , “There are many ways to be a part of the 2012 Republican National Convention. You can sign up to receive newsletters and other updates, join convention social media conversations or get an up-close look at convention events through our website, blog and other platforms designed to create a convention without walls. visit:
