Micheal SpurlockTampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Micheal Spurlock was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 16 by the National Football League on December 29th. This marks the 26th time, including the third this season, that a Buccaneer has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He is also the third different return man for the Buccaneers to win the award this season.

Tampa Bay BuccaneersTAMPA, FL - July 31, 2009 - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have signed QB Josh Freeman to a five-year contract.

The Buccaneers have now signed their entire 2009 draft class as they prepare for players to report to camp on Friday, July 31. Tampa Bay’s 2009 training camp begins this Saturday, August 1 with a morning practice at One Buccaneer Place followed by a night practice at Raymond James Stadium.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be making their training public, meaning fans will be able to attend their practices.

Buccaneer's Finalize Coaching Staff for 2009

tampa_bay_buccaneers.jpgTampa, FL (February 11, 2009) -  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have named Steve Logan running backs coach, Alfredo Roberts tight ends coach and Chris Mosley assistant offensive line coach. In addition, Richard Bisaccia had his title changed to Associate Head Coach/Special Teams Coordinator and Richard Mann was named Assistant Head Coach/Wide Receivers. The club also named Jay Kaiser as Assistant to the Head Coach.

Logan spent two seasons as the offensive coordinator for Boston College (2007-08). In 2007, Logan’s offense, led by ACC Player of the Year QB Matt Ryan, led the ACC in total offense and passing offense and finished third in scoring offense. He was also instrumental in helping RB Andre Callender set a single-season ACC record for most receptions by a running back (76). Logan was the head coach for Eastern Carolina from 1992-02, becoming the school’s all-time winningest coach with a record of 69-58. He led the Pirates to five bowl games.

General season ticket prices for the 2009 season at Raymond James Stadium will be $99, $89, $85, $75, $65, $55, $50, and $42 per game. The $42.00 general season ticket price remains one of the lowest-priced tickets in the NFL. Club seat season pricing will also remain the same for 2009.

Fans are reminded that season ticket packages will reflect just nine games at Raymond James Stadium because of Tampa Bay’s game against New England in London on October 25, 2009.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers New Head Coach

Tampa Bay BuccaneersTampa FL,  January 17, 2009 - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have named Raheem Morris head coach and Mark Dominik general manager.

Morris, who spent the past two seasons as the Buccaneers defensive backs coach, was promoted to defensive coordinator on December 25, 2008 before being named head coach. Overall, he has spent six seasons on the Buccaneers sideline in two stints with the club.

Morris has quickly risen through the Buccaneers coaching ranks during his time with the team, serving as defensive quality control coach in 2002,defensive assistant in 2003 and assistant defensive backs coach from 2004-2005 before taking over as defensive backs coach in 2007. During his first stint with the club, Morris worked closely with former Bucs defensive backs coach and current Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin in the development of one of the NFL’s top secondaries while also helping the Buccaneers capture their first ever world championship in Super Bowl XXXVII. In between stints in Tampa Bay, he spent 2006 as Kansas State’s defensive coordinator.

It is time to add a new industry to that list, an industry that brings over $521.3 million annually to our region. Not only does this industry pump a significant amount of money into our local economy, it provides a diversity of benefits to add to the quality of life in Tampa Bay.

This major industry is THE ARTS. The Tampa Bay Business Committee for the Arts, Inc. (“TBBCA”) recently announced the results of a professional study of the economic impact of the arts in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. This is the first measure of arts impact on the two counties since the original joint study conducted in 1999. The report was sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and conducted by the PwC Sports, Convention and Leisure Practice.
