What started in July as a pod of 38 quickly grew to 50 creatively decorated 6-foot tall dolphins. In just 3 weeks, a team of artists turned each of the 80-pound fiberglass dolphin-shaped figures (provided by Icon Poly Studio in Gibbon, Neb)  into a uniquely fun art exhibit that colorfully enhances the already beautiful view at the entrance of Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach.

Make a Difference DayRoll up your sleeves and get ready to make a difference!  One of the largest volunteer fairs in the Tampa Bay area, β€œMake a Difference Day”, is coming to Westfield Countryside mall on Saturday April 24th from 10 am to 6 pm.  Sponsored by the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Eckerd Youth Alternatives and Westfield Countryside mall, this mega event features about 50 leading non-profit organizations and thousands of volunteer opportunities.  With something for everyone, it’s your chance to get involved and give back to your community in a meaningful way.

The Lobster Pot - Photo by Simaen SkolfeldOn September 15th, the Harborview Center in Downtown Clearwater played host to the Taste of Clearwater. This annual event provides attendees with the opportunity to sample food from more than fifty restaurants and five beverage providers in the Clearwater area. Samples and tastings were free with the purchase of the $20 admission ticket. An estimated 1,000 people attended the event this year. There was “a variety of dishes from American cuisine to more exotic fare – from hamburgers and spicy wings to sashimi and Thai food,” said Sherri Callahan of the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The goal [of the event] is to bring the community together for food and fun.”

Greektown GrillCity of Clearwater - New Greek Restaurant Earns Fall 2008 Business Beautification Recognition Award

CLEARWATER, FL.  December  12, 2008  -  The Greektown Grill, a recent addition to Clearwater's downtown dining options and a welcome anchor in the city's East Gateway, has earned the City's Fall Business Beautification Recognition Award for 2008.

The building now occupied by the new restaurant at 1230 Cleveland St., has been completely renovated with a new facade, banquet area, a covered outdoor eating area, and a large dining room that includes the kitchen and bar. Outdoor lighting illuminates newly installed signs and provides a dramatic look for the buildings at night.

The award, presented in partnership with the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, acknowledges a business that makes a commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents in Clearwater. The Business Beautification Recognition Award program honors the uniqueness of Clearwater businesses and encourages the business community to maintain or make significant improvements to their properties while providing the surrounding community with a positive sense of place.

Clearwater Downtown Partnership Celebrates the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce 2008 Business of the Year Awards

Clearwater, FL, 4 February 2008 — A crowd of about 500 chamber members and guests attended The Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 86th Annual Meeting held on January 31, 2008 at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club to celebrate the achievements of many business and civic leaders whom have made a positive impact on the community. Two CEOs of the 5 winners were executive board members of the Clearwater Downtown Partnership (CDP) — Joy Gendusa and Stu Sjouwerman. Hailed as the fastest-growing direct mail postcard marketing firm in the nation by Inc Magazine, PostcardMania was honored as the 2008 Large In-State Business of the Year.
