The Gasparilla Children's Parade will Take Place on January 23rd On January 23rd, the Children’s Gasparilla Extravaganza will provide alcohol-free family friendly entertainment and celebrate the return of Gasparilla in Tampa Bay. The event will take place on Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa the week before the Gasparilla Pirate Fest, held in the same location on January 31st.

Winter Wonderland - Photo by Angela LeMayOn Friday, December 11th, Winter Wonderland will hold their Special Anniversary Celebration of the 17th Annual Winter Wonderland in Downtown Clearwater.    In conjunction with the city’s scheduled “Holiday Light Up” and “Miracle on Cleveland Street”, this winter holiday village will enhance the community’s holiday spirit.  The evenings celebration will be kicked off by community leaders: John Doran, City Councilmember; Rod Irwin, of the City Managers Office; Deacon Maurice Mickens, of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church; Pat Harney, Public Affairs Director for the Church of Scientology and of course, the much anticipated secret-surprise entrance by Santa Claus. The special Anniversary Celebration will begin at 6:30 PM sharp.

Winter Wonderland will open on December 4th weather permittingAlthough, the “Miracle on Cleveland St.” and the city’s “Holiday Light Up” in Clearwater’s Cleveland Street District (Downtown), has been postponed until December 11th due to a 70% chance of rain forecast,  Winter Wonderland still intends to open the Christmas Village as scheduled on December 4th – 20th, weather permitting.

Miracle on Cleveland StreetOil is not the only thing that does not mix with water… neither does snow apparently.  Due to a forecasted 70% chance of rain that could turn 40 tons of snow into ice, the event organizers of Miracle on Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater decide to postpone the event until next week, Friday, December 11th from 5-10 pm.

Winter Wonderland Opens Dec 4th

Winter WonderlandThe Church of Scientology’s Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV), invites you to join them for the grand opening ceremony of the 17th Annual Winter Wonderland in downtown Clearwater. As is tradition each year, this magical winter holiday village – which runs for seventeen consecutive evenings - is opened with an official holiday light up by community leaders: City Councilmember John Doran, CCV, the Church of Scientology and of course, the much anticipated secret-surprise entrance by Santa Claus. The special Grand Opening Ceremony will take place at 6:30 PM on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009.

Accompanying Dungy to the event was his daughter Jade, who is aged 8, and son Jordan, who is aged 9.

Walking with Dinosaurs the Arena SpectacularTAMPA BAY- Dinosaurs once again roam the earth in a spectacular theatrical arena show, “Walking with Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular”, based on the award-winning BBC Television Series. “Walking with Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular” is now on tour and will have eight performances at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, presented by the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (TBPAC). 

Carmen Pavlovic, CEO of the Creature Production Company, said, “The BBC Series was a brilliant blend of special effects, escapism, excitement and information.  Our show brings together all of that, plus something extra - it’s live! In this production, 17 roaring, snarling “live” dinosaurs mesmerize the audience – and are as awe-inspiring as when they first walked on earth.”

Clothes to KidsSt. Petersburg, Florida - Jennifer Silva, Executive Director of Clothes To Kids, announced today that the organization has selected a location for its new St. Petersburg store. Clothes To Kids (CTK), whose mission is to provide new and quality used clothing to low income, school-age children in Pinellas County free of charge, has been operating for nearly six years out of a single location in Clearwater.  The addition of the second store will allow CTK to better fulfill its mission by making its services more accessible to the more than 25,000 eligible children who live south of Ulmerton Road. The new CTK store, slated to open in August of this year, is located in the Cornerstone Center at 3251 Third Avenue North, Suite 145 South, in St. Petersburg.
