The Pier in Downtown St. Petersburg has been a landmark since it first opened in 1973The inverted pyramid of The Pier has been a St. Petersburg landmark since it opened its doors in 1973. On January 6th, the Pier Advisory Task Force met to discuss plans to redesign and revitalize the colorful triangular edifice, which has been seen as a burden on the city in recent times. $50 million has been approved for future renovation of the structure, but will not become available until 2012.

House of SkaThe House of Ska has been known as one of St. Petersburg’s most fabulous boutiques, offering fun, funky and flamboyant fashion by Polish designer Ivanka Ska. Now, Ivanka is announcing the grand opening of House of Ska, The Art and Modeling Studio. The studio is located at 433 Central Avenue, Suite #205 in St. Petersburg. The studio will offer four day and two day workshops where students will be able to learn all aspects of the fashion and modeling industries.

Sunscreen Film FestivalST. PETERSBURG, FL - The Sunscreen Film Festival's Summer Camp Film School for children will begin on July 6th. The two-week program will give aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to have a hands-on opportunity to learn about the art of filmmaking. They will be scripting, shooting and editing as many as four short films.

The camp runs from July 6th to July 17th, and will be from 9 to 5 on Mondays through Fridays. The camp is for kids aged 14-18. On July 17th, at 6:30pm, the campers will hold a film screening to show off the films made during the camp to their family and friends.

A Taste of Pinellas at The Vinoy ParkST. PETERSBURG, FL - The 23rd annual "A Taste of Pinellas" food and entertainment event will take place this weekend, Friday, May 29th to Sunday, May 31st in Downtown St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park.  

More than 40 restaurants will be offering a taste of their most popular specialties. Admission to the park is free, and diners are able to purchase ticks to taste Pinellas's finest cooking, as well as kids activated and interactive games.
