New Imperial Potentate of the Shriners

Jack H. Jones the New Imperial Potentate of the ShrinersJack H. Jones of St. Petersburg Florida, has been elected the Imperial Potentate (president and chief executive officer) of Shriners International. This makes him the highest-ranking Shriner in the world. In this role, Jones will also serve a yearlong term as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Shriners Hospitals for Children. “It’s a great responsibility and a great honor to serve,” says Jones of his position.

The Shriners International is the fraternal organization, which is, according to their Web site, “based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth.” The Shriners also founded and continue to support Shriners Hospital for Children.

4th Friday in ClearwaterClearwater, FL, August 10, 2009 - The 30th Anniversary  of Clearwater’s Jazz Holiday begins this September and to kick it off in real style the Clearwater Downtown Partnership is having their popular 4th Friday Clearwater Party on Cleveland Street on September 25th.  Two city blocks will be closed down on Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater.  The Level 10 band will be performing to all the street party-goers.  To get the party kicking off, Jose Valentino will be the opening entertainment.  There will be beer & wine for sale while food and wares will be sold by multiple street vendors.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Training Camp 2009The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that tickets for this year’s Training Camp held at One Buccaneer Place will be available on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets will be made available exclusively through the One Buc Club on Buccaneers.com. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be making their training public, meaning fans will be able to attend their practices.

Clearwater, FL, July 20, 2009 - The Clearwater Chamber of Commerce (CRCC) is continuing their mission of bringing the business community together, this time focusing on women.  The CRCC is having their upcoming Women's Expo on August 5, 2009 from 9am-2pm to bring their women-owned businesses, as well as women professionals of the business community, the ability to connect to each other, a needed activity in today's business environment.  The event will be hosted at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Clearwater Beach.  Dr. Joedrecka Brown of Morton Plant Mease Primary Care is one of the guest speakers.

4th of July Fireworks Over Tampa BayThis Fourth of July, the celebrations will be abundant for Pinellas County. With so many festivities planned, there is sure to be fun for everyone!

In Tarpon Springs, a Patriotic Picnic will be held in Craig Park from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be music and fun-filled activities such as a bubblegum blowing contest and sack races as well as free hot dogs, soda and water.

On the lawn of the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa in Safety Harbor, revelers will be treated with carnival games, inflatables and a rock climbing wall, with a fireworks display at 9:00 pm.
