The holidays are an exciting time of year. However, decorating, traveling and even cooking can pose some safety risks. Taking simple preventative measures will help you and Santa Claus stay safe during this joyous season.

Thanksgiving travel is expected to increaseWith a cautious eye on economic recovery more Americans intend to travel this year for Thanksgiving than last year. AAA projects 38.4 million Americans will travel a distance of 50 miles or more away from home throughout Thanksgiving weekend, a 1.4 percent increase over last year when 37.8 million traveled for the holiday. Overall, the numbers show an even greater number of people who plan on driving (86% of all travelers). Florida is projected to show a 3 percent increase in overall travel versus 2008.
