June 11, 2009 – MADEIRA BEACH, FL – This weekend, Friday, June 12th through the 14th, The Eighth Annual John Levique Pirate Days will invade the city of Madeira Beach offering a variety of pirate-themed events, food and beverages as well as merchandise for all the swashbucklers in the area to plunder.
The event celebrates the discovery of St. John’s Pass and prepares landlubbers for hurricane season.
The event’s schedule will include:
A Pirates Ball on Friday from 7-11pm, featuring a silent auction, a costume contest and music from Terry and the Pirates.
A “Sea Battle” boat parade on Saturday at 11am, and events including a kayak race, kids costume contest, fight circle bar brawl and performances from the West Coast Mutineer.
A parade will commence at 1pm on Sunday, starting at Treasure Island City Hall.
